My name is Maggie Xu. I am from Shanghai, China, where I studied engineering as my major. I travelled around the world working on various high-rise buildings across many cities with my husband, Jason Li, and then spent a decade here in Auckland. My husband is an urban designer with an architecture master from the National University of Singapore. We have three kids: one is eight years old, one is four years old, and the little one is nearly 2 years old. Like all working mums, I value work-life balance a lot.


Along with being the new owner of Just Kidz Albany, I have also owned Just Kidz Kelston since its beginning for over two years. Having been part of the Just Kidz family already, I feel even more excited to be taking on this wonderful opportunity. I would like to assure you all that I will continue to uphold the high standards of care of Just Kidz, and all the friendly staff whom you have been entrusting with your children will continue to be part of the Just Kidz Kelston team.

    Kia Ora,

    My name is Joy Cho. I am originally from Korea and have been living in New Zealand since 2000. I completed my Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Christchurch and graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2008. I am a dedicated and fully registered early childhood teacher with a strong passion for children’s learning and care.


    I believe that the early stages of a child’s life are crucial in shaping the adults they will become, and I love being part of and making a positive difference in their learning and development. Here at Just Kidz Albany, we incorporate Te Whāriki into our everyday practice. I especially enjoy encouraging parents, families, and whānau to be actively involved in our service and value parents’ contributions to their children’s learning and development.


    I believe that each child is unique, competent, and capable. I enjoy working collaboratively with children, families, parents, and teachers to ensure children have meaningful learning opportunities across all areas of development. We have a wonderful team of teachers here at Just Kidz Albany, and I feel privileged to be part of it. I look forward to working with you and your children.

    My name is Ruby, and I am originally from China. I graduated from NZTC in 2008 with a Level 7 Diploma.


    I am passionate about working with children and supporting them to reach their full potential. I believe every child is unique, and my role as an educator is to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where they feel confident to learn and grow.


    I strongly believe that all children have incredible potential and are capable of achieving great things. I am committed to building strong, positive relationships with tamariki and supporting them to become confident, capable learners on their lifelong learning journey. I value treating each child with respect and kindness and believe children learn best in a welcoming, playful, and supportive environment.


    I am very excited to be part of the Just Kidz whānau and look forward to working alongside the tamariki, their whānau, and our dedicated teaching team.

    My name is Ivy. I am originally from China and moved to New Zealand in 2016. I completed my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education at NZTC in 2022 and am passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.


    I have a strong interest in alternative and creative teaching strategies and believe that learning is an active process where children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences. I value child-initiated learning and enjoy extending children’s thinking through open-ended questions and purposeful play.


    I believe every child is unique, capable, and confident. I enjoy building positive relationships with children, families, and whānau and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel supported and excited to learn. I look forward to being part of each child’s learning journey here at Just Kidz Childcare.
